Because of Christine Farah I have been wanting to use the word fabulous everywhere!  And today is the perfect day to be fabulous! Here are some fab fonts and typography that are making me ... well .... feel oh-so fabulously inspired. 

This video is d*lightful and the music is bringing me back to the 80's. Organic type and catchy music, what a great combo. Mental note, when we have kids we have to, have to, have to do this with them. Thank you swissmiss for making me smile.

Speaking of fruits, how about this chalkboard kitchen? Lindsay of Mstetson Design stripped off her wallpaper and created a wall of good 'ol chalkboard fun. Look at the shapes and numbers, ugh they are disgustingly wonderful.

Orange Coast Weddings Magazine Launch Party

Last night, D*LSH was invited to the magazine launch party for Orange Coast Weddings, at The Montage Resort in Laguna Beach. This wedding magazine will be great resource for all the Orange County brides out there. The food was d*licious. The photo booth was ultra fun. The decor was stunning. I think this will be the start of many more parties to come! The experience was very heartwarming and inspiring for the future of our studio.  D*LSH has come a long way and we're finally feeling the forward pull to create bigger projects and ideas in our studio.  Our vision of how we want to do things is in the right path. Here's a little video of the feel of the event.  Miss Henny (soon-to-be Mrs.)  will be posting some more eye candy later.

Simple Elegance with a Whimsical Twist

We've been admiring Michelle Rago's work from afar. Her style, taste and choice for her floral designs and events is like no other. So when we found out that she just launched her behind the scenes blog we were ecstatic. I hope she continues to blog, because reading her blog makes us feel a little closer to how she thinks and how everything is created. So much we can learn from yet another amazing designer.

Here's her latest destination wedding in Florida. I love this idea - she was so inspired by the patterns on the bride's Oscar de la Renta dress, that she decided to use that as a common thread through the whole wedding. Creating a hand-carved chuppah and a hand-painted dance floor from it.

I love the blue, bigness of these hydrangeas.

Lately I'm obsessed with anything round. And when I saw these light balls on floor, getting ready to get hung, it made me chuckle inside.  It just reminds me of D*LSH just a little.  We've done events and projects just like that before. Where things that are being set up is all over the place and every available space is taken.  Through this mess beauty comes out.  Michelle Rago always has a whimsical elegant touch to her work, her blogs are just the same.

 

29 days til my big 29th birthday!

The big 2-9 is coming and instead of having a big 3-0 birthday party, I'm going to celebrate my 2-9 loud... before my 3-0! It's an important year.  You know how they say, how you spend your birthday is a good prediction to how you're going to spend the rest of the year.  Well not really, I kinda made that up. But it doesn't mean I can't celebrate my birthday like that. My 2-9 is going to be great and I want to live it up!  I saw these cups, and I had to have them for my party. They are hilarious. I'm planning to end my 20s with flare, fierceness, adventure, joy, love, friends & family, my boy, laughter, travels, creativity, success, growth, play, and just more goodness.

Jack Black is one of my heroes.

Beautiful Bird Lady

At D*SLH we are designing a wedding invite for someone very dear to us, and it's inspired from paper cuts. If you're curious, you'll get to see it in a few weeks.  But during my research, I was re-introduced to the wonderful work of Rob Ryan again.  And I saw that Rob Ryan posted his latest silkscreen prints.  It literally took my breathe away and my heart went pitter patter. I introduce you to Bird Lady.  Oh I love it! Anything with sweet details, I just can't resist. Look at the kissing birds! Reminds me of me and my boy. The color combination is d*lightful. Rob Ryan, you stole my heart again.

Couples are kissing. Friends are hugging. Kids are sharing chocolate. It's Valentines Day and love is in the air. Green Gifting

In the Valentine's Day spirit of giving, I stumbled upon this cool website that sells men's grooming products that are organic and earth-loving. Most of the products are free of dyes, alcohol, and/or harsh synthetics. The packaging is also green-friendly, being either recyclable, biodegradable or just minimal. So if you're having a hard time finding gifts for your man, this might be a nice option (for both him and his world). The best part is, it's called Herban Cowboy! Ha!

And as we think of our significant other, or family and friends on the day of love, don't forget to love the world we walk on. If you like shopping as I do, maybe this would be one little step we can take to showing just a little love to our planet. The best part is that it's only $6! And proceed goes to the children's environmental group "The Green Ambassadors". Cute!
