D*Lsh Published!

Things have been busy around here. For one thing, I'm only a little more than a week away from my own wedding! Wow! Times have flown by. Fast. And we've had so many good things happening that we want to share with you that we can hardly keep up here. First of all, we've just been published! Not in just any book but a book that features many talented designers who've designed logos, invitations, promotions and branding for special events. We feel so honored to be featured among some of the greatest in the design world. When you get a chance, go check out this book at your local bookstore. time is flying by...

...when we are having so much fun. Sorry for being so quiet around here but we are having a grand time designing brands for some pretty cool businesses and designing fabulous parties for life changing events! A deep, deep passion of D*LSH. 1 bachlorette party, 2 bridal showers, 1 baby shower, 2 wedding invitations, 1 logo, 2 blogs, 2 websites and 2 business cards. How we do it, we don't know. But one thing for sure is that we are loving every moment of it. In a few days we will be posting some pictures of all the fabulous things we've been doing. Oh and before we leave for the day....D*LSH also has some really great news to tell you. We LOVE surprises, so you have to wait for a few more days to find out what it is. Sorry. But here's a little tease of what's to come...

I'm diggin' ruffles lately and when I saw these chairs I gasped. They are so inviting aren't they? And each are so pretty like a flower. Yummy ruffles.

My Love for Balloons

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! Happy Mother's Day to all the mommy's out there... I hope you were treated as a Queen because you are one. 

Spending time with my mom always brings back a lot of memories. I know this is random, but balloons are one of them. Growing up my mom was known as the balloon lady who always did amazing parties with balloons. She would do these really creative and intricate balloon arches. Maybe that's where I get my love for parties, because part of my childhood was me helping her decorate parties. Balloons tend have a bad rep these days for being soooo 80's.  But as of late I've been seeing the balloons being used in a new refreshing way that's so retro and sweet. So here are few of my favorites that's inspiring me to relive my past, and wanting me to celebrate my mom by throwing a party just using balloons. I have a baby shower coming up and I think balloons would be perfect!

Martha Stewart really knows how to take something forgotten and brings it back to life. Here she uses balloons for a wedding! She kepy it looking grown-up and glamorous, by sticking to balloons in a simple color palette.

And lastly a bridal shower, mad hatter tea party that D*LSH designed with huge balloons. Mad hatter would be jealous of such a party!

Sexy Things

I was browsing the bookstore yesterday, in search of books on lace patterns for a project we're working on, but I went home empty-handed. What I did find though, was a list of books that I'm adding on my wish list! And they're all from the craft section of the bookstore. It's been a while since I re-visit my love for anything crafty. The sewing class was a nice refresher course, but this just opened up my mind to a whole lot of new things! It was like a rush of mega d*Lsh ideas!

One book that I heart was Knitting Lingerie Style by Joan McGowan-Michael. I'm not one who knows how to knit, but flipping through the images of the sweet and sexy lingerie ideas in knit is just soooo neat! I LOVE IT! Here are a couple images from the book.

With a couple friends who are getting married, I wish I could make some of these for them. It'll be way too cute as a bridal shower gift. Something different than the usual lotion or Victoria Secret's lingerie. But hey, there's nothing wrong with those either ; ).
