Everyone in the wedding world is always buzzing about the wedding line from J.Crew. But have you seen the latest for the kids. If you haven't you should! They have the most adorable skirts and dresses for the flower girls. And the suits for the ring bears are really cute too! Their new catalog is full of fun and eye candy. Check it out. *Sigh* To be a little girl again...
This weekend was a jam-packed one for D*LSH.

On Saturday, we had the privilege of working with absolutely talented cast on a photoshoot that we're doing for a new wedding collection. We had Jeffrey Neal of JNP Studios as the photographer extraordinaire, along with his hairstylist, Robin Dunn, who according to the models, was one of the best hairstylists they've ever worked with! She did some amazing hair on the models. For makeup, we had Anha of Anha Does Makeup, who was as superb at what she does. We totally dig the stuff she did for the shoot - very innovative and creative. Our models, Ericka who's totally fun to work with, and Holly who absolutely got her stuff together, made the day go so much smoother. And we wouldn't have been able to do it without Pegah Sasani, our wardrobe stylist, who put together the best looks for the 'shoot. She was so sweet and we love all the dresses and accessories she brought.

On Sunday, we switched gear for a different photoshoot for Utterly Engaged, with Eva from Red Velvet Occasions. Of course, we had to pick the hottest day of the year to shoot this outdoor!! But our team survived (sorta) the afternoon and managed to create an awesome set. We were very fortunate to have Summer Watkins of Grey Likes Weddings as our floral stylist because her creativity and passion for beautiful flowers just blew our mind. And her talents extended in her family, when she brought her mom on the team to create a fabulous cake to go with the theme! So very awesome! And we were very excited when Stephanie Williams and her hubby Isaac agreed to jump on board to shoot the set. Thanks also to John Dinh, Lucy's brother, for helping us with the manly labor and the awesome behind-the-scene photos! His eye for style was a completely pleasant surprise. Not to mention his wife, Phung, who was eager to help with anything. Such a sweetheart!

David Stark is our hero! He's such an innovative, creative genius. His paint by numbers table at DIFFA's Dining by Design, brings back many fond memories of endless summers when I was wee little.
I love it when designers takes something old and forgotten and makes it fresh again. Below you can see here he took Benjamin Moore's paint cans and created lampshades.

Every year, DIFFA, Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, has a fundraising five day event where they gather artists and interior, event, and fashion designers from all over to create amazing, innovative dining installations. In addition to the awesome tables, the guests are feasting on delectable food and wine. Not only is it to showcase the amazing talents behind each table and the wonderful food, but all the proceeds from the events benefit DIFFA's AIDS awareness, prevention and treatment programs.
Here are some of my favorites.
Faune Yerby's setting was reminiscent of a New York rooftop, with images of water towers on plates, screen panels, and tags hanging over the table and from centerpieces.
Michael Tavano designed a graffiti-inspired room for the New York Design Center, with art by Christian Avila and a contrasting formal dinner setting. The theme is "Fine Dining, Urban Living."
Interesting and really creative use of light using buckets and umbrellas. If you know who they are designed by please let us know.
** UPDATE ** The incredible umbrella lights were designed by Shelly Sabel. Beautiful! If you were dining at this table and looked up, they look like flowers. Go to her site to see some more of her latest lighting designs, sculptures and installations.
A chic and sophisticated table by Eric Warner.
This is beautiful table designed by the Fashion Institute of Technology with their mentor David Beahm. An interactive and elegant red and white table that invited guests to write "wishes". I love the place mats, a great way to start conversation.
