Garlands for Your Party!

Lately, I've been inspired with all the fresh and fun ways that garlands are being made. The crafty girls of the blog world are inspiring me to create one for one of my upcoming parties! Below are some of my favorites. They are so perfect for birthdays, baby and bridal showers, heck even at a wedding. But I think they are even better to have them hung in your home, so you can see them everyday. They are too pretty just for one day. If your feeling inspired too, some of them are kind to have instructions on how to make it happen.

I know this isn't a garland, but I think it's in the same family, they're meant to hang, they're so modern but yet fun & fresh to look at. They don't have instructions to how to make them, but you can purchase it in their shop. I love the color combination. Fawn & Forest's, recycled paper mobiles,

The Brooklyn Ring Pillow

Our favorite blog gal Vane, from Brooklyn Bride, has channeled her inner craftiness and has created a new line of some pretty awesome ring pillows for the modern bride. Bklynpillow! I love the attention to detail that she puts into each ring pillow. The red stitched heart, the way the circles are cut and placed - oh so yummy. I think I'm going to have her make my ring pillow for my wedding! The choice of frabic is heavenly. She's got such great taste! Party Animals

My birthday is coming up so soon and I haven't been in a party mood until I saw these little party animals. They made me giggle inside and feel like celebrating just a little. I love the whimsical creatures that Hilary of Bunny with a Toolbelt created. They have such a funny sense of humor!

Flora & Fauna

In my home, we not only raise turtle babies, we're also growing plant babies: Simon the Money Tree, which is prosperously growing and Molly as in the unsinkable Molly Brown, a Spathiphyllum or Peace Lily house plant. Since Molly's getting bigger, we recently had a florist replant her into a bigger pot (pictured above). And she came home with a friend! Our florist put a little butterfly perched on a branch in the pot to keep Molly company. Isn't it adorable?

and in what used to be Molly's small pot, now grows an Epipremnum aereum aka Pothos or Silver Vine or Money Plant. Don't you just love the little bird that the florist added? I think they should have birds and butterflies in centerpieces. That would be so lovely!

Wedding Toppers

Speaking of cake toppers, I ran across Sarah's blog and etsy store and found these adorable, vintage wedding cake toppers. They make me so happy looking at them.

She even takes custom orders. I hope one of our brides gets one. And look they even have their arms wrapped around each other! *sigh* Too sweet!

And this one is called the Peacock Power Everyday cake, the everlasting cake tower. Not a cake topper, but kinda like a faux cake. You can put it on top of a stack of books for display or use it as part of the spread of food when having a birthday party.

Mr. Stork's Delivery

This year not only were there a lot, a lot, a lot of weddings in my personal life, there are also a lot, a lot, a lot of babies coming from those same couples that just got married. So with all the baby showers in mind, I found this super adorable Mr. Stork to top a very lucky cake of a very lucky mommy-to-be. Irresistible! Jennifer Murphy also makes equally adorable cake toppers for weddings.

i'm really digging this d.i.y. centerpiece that Jessica created. Paper berries and branches. So interesting, inspiring and delightful all at the same time.
